Day 1: Arrive to Luang Prabang
Welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit the Royal emples.Wat Xiengthong was built in 1560 by King Sethathirath and represents classical local temple architecture. Its Sim [chapel] is richly decorated with a notable roof sweeping low to the ground. The other temples, Wat Visun was built in 1512, Wat Mai built in 1821 was the home of the Prabang form 1894-1947. Wat Sean was built in 1718 and Phousi commands a hill which offers a stunning view of the Luang Prabang valley. Overnight at your hotel. |

Day 2: Luang Prabang
Today the Pakou Cave – but first -This morning you have the option to participate in the early morning ritual of the local people giving offerings to the alms bowl of the monks.Then a boat trip on the Mekong River to visit Pakou Cave a shelter for numerous Buddhist images of varying styles, ages and sizes and Ban Sanghai, the traditional ricewine [Lao Lao] making village.In the afternoon return to Luang Prabang and visit Ban Sang Khong, a village where paper making, handweaving and dying takes place. A day to visit the wonderful Kuangsi Waterfall.
After breakfast, visit the local market and the silver smith’s shops! After driving to Kuangsi Waterfalls you can enjoy a short trek along the forest paths to visit Ban Tha Pean, the Kh’mu minority village. In the afternoon return to Luang Prabang. Overnight at your hotel. |
